Champion showcases
What it sees a driver's view rebuilt only from its senses, as a
self-driving car draws its own perception: the road is the retina's silhouette, the blue beams its eyes, the
red band a danger it remembers, the sign the sharpest bend it remembers, the green path its learnt line, the blue ribbon where its present turning takes it (red where it would leave the road);
the grey cars are what its eyes for cars report, the light is the one it senses, the arcs behind a car closing on it.
For comparison, from the circuit's map and not its senses: the real road's edges (amber dashes), the ideal
racing line (violet), and the real hazards and cross traffic (amber wireframes)
What it senses its reality, as its organs deliver it: the car heads
up; the eyes are rays that stop where the asphalt ends (metres of free road); the green arrow is where the road
under it points; the grey fan is its retina (how far its road ahead reaches in 15 directions: the shape of the road it sees); the edges press on its sides; what it remembers floats ahead at its distance (bends, its learnt
line, danger in red); the rival is the grey car. On the right, its body and its hands
Its mind at this instant past · now · future, in seconds; it has no memory
of its own: its past is the setpoints its last verbs left and the motion it feels, its future is what its eyes see
and its map memory recalls
The whole episode every sense, tick by tick

Cities for driving with a GPS (docs/city.md): a street grid or real streets from OpenStreetMap. Each route is a tour from home to a random destination and back another way. Along the route the GPS speaks, and a program reads the same words as numbers (the GPS senses). The other streets are real: a driver that ignores the GPS goes straight on and takes a wrong turn.

What it sees the world rebuilt only from the driver's senses at this
instant (its retina, its eyes reaching into the side streets, the lights, the cars it detects): the city as the
program knows it, not the map. Faded: senses its program never reads
